Conflict-of-interest disclosure

Who funds WikiKratom, who works on it, what commercial interests they hold, and what we do about it.

The conflict

WikiKratom is published by K-EYE B.V., a registered Dutch company. K-EYE B.V. also owns a European kratom retailer, and a member of our editorial team works for that retailer.

K-EYE B.V. does not sell kratom itself. It owns the company that does, and it takes that company's profits, so the group paying for this publication earns money from the substance this publication writes about. That is a real commercial interest, and you should factor it into how you read us.

We are telling you this unprompted, at the top of the page, rather than burying it. A conflict you have to go looking for has not really been disclosed.

Why we name the publisher and not the shop

A fair question, and we would rather answer it than have you assume the worst.

K-EYE B.V. is named because accountability for what we publish rests with it. The shop it owns is described here but not named, for two reasons.

The first is that it does not change what you can check. We publish legal trackers, regulatory reporting and research summaries, and every one of them cites primary sources you can read yourself. Whether the DEA filed a notice of intent on 6 July 2026 is a matter of public record, and no shop's trade name changes the Federal Register. On the reporting we currently do, that name adds little the paragraphs above have not already given you.

The second is that it cuts both ways. Printing a retailer's brand name on a site that retailer's owner pays for starts to look like advertising rather than disclosure. We name our publisher on this page with its trade-register number, and Dutch trade-register filings are public, so this is not a secret being kept from you. It is a brand name we decline to put in front of readers while we have nothing to say about vendors.

That changes the instant we touch vendors. If this site ever publishes a vendor rating, a vendor ranking, a link to a shop, or a framework applied to named retailers, then which shop our publisher owns becomes exactly the fact you need in order to check us, and it will be named here, prominently, before any such content is published. We are writing that commitment down in public so that you can hold us to it.

We would rather state that boundary plainly than let it erode quietly, which is how these things usually go wrong.

What we do about it

  • We publish no vendor ratings, rankings or recommendations. Not for the shop our publisher owns, and not for its competitors. We are not a shopping guide.
  • We publish no commercial links. No affiliate links, no sponsored placements, no paid reviews. We have never accepted money from a kratom vendor for coverage and we do not intend to.
  • We do not link to any kratom retailer, including that one. Not with a followed link, not for search-engine benefit, not at all.
  • We sell nothing. There is no shop, no product, no newsletter upsell, no advertising on this site.

If that changes

We may eventually publish a framework for evaluating kratom vendors. The market badly needs one, and the absence of any credible standard is part of why it is so easy to sell adulterated product. If we ever do:

  • The criteria and the scoring method will be published before any vendor is assessed against them, so that they cannot be reverse-engineered to produce a convenient result.
  • The underlying evidence for every assessment (lab certificates, company records, shipping policies) will be published alongside it, so anyone can check our work rather than take our word for it.
  • Every outbound vendor link will carry rel="sponsored", so that no shop, including the one our publisher owns, gains any search-ranking benefit from appearing here.
  • The shop our publisher owns will be named, and this disclosure will appear on every page carrying an assessment.

Until all of that exists, we simply do not cover vendors. We would rather publish nothing than publish something we cannot stand behind.

Why the editor is pseudonymous

Kratom is a prohibited substance in a number of European countries, and our editor works in an industry where being publicly associated with it carries professional consequences. The pen name is for personal privacy, not for hiding responsibility.

Accountability rests with the publisher, K-EYE B.V., registered in the Netherlands under KvK number 69926174 at Industrieweg 14G, 1231 KH Loosdrecht, Netherlands. If we get something wrong, there is a real company at a real address to hold to it, and our corrections log is public.

Tell us if we are getting this wrong

If you think our coverage is bent by that commercial relationship, we want to hear it. Tell us specifically, with the article and the claim. Write to editorial@wikikratom.com. Substantiated complaints get published in the corrections log alongside what we changed.
